Federal Elections - Campaign Life Coalition

Simple Election to do List For Pro-Life Canadians

1. Make abortion an election issue. Question ALL the candidates in your riding about their stands on the life issues. Use the CLC questionnaire questions as a guide. Let the candidates know that avoiding the questions is not acceptable. Also insist that a generic party response is not acceptable because they have an obligation to be up front with the voters about their personal stand on all issues. Your are electing your candidate to represent you and therefore he must tell you where he stands,.

2. Contact Camapign Life Coalition with any candidate information beyond what has already been reported in the CLC Elections Guide by calling CLC at 1-800-730-5358, fax or email to election@lifesite.net.

3. By far the most important election role you can undertake is to make it crystal clear to every candidate that abortion, euthanasia, assisted suicide and respect for life are the top issues on which you WILL cast your ballot.

4. You must also encourage others to do likewise.

5. Always be respectful but firm. Don’t harangue, get angry or verbally abuse candidates in any way. Instead engage in respectful dialogue.

6. Try to educate every candidate but at the same time do not be naïve about their promises or off-hand responses to pacify you.

7. Ask for commitments to whatever degree each candidate is willing to make.
