Dark History

Dark history of socialism/marxism

In its extreme form, socialism is a destroyer of human dignity and human rights. Because it shares the same atheistic and anti-Christian world view as communism, socialists eventually seek to extinguish religion from society.  It is this aspect of socialistic/marxist ideology which makes it most dangerous.

History proves that whenever a nation has embraced this philosophy, it was followed by ruthless totalitarianism, unhinged from moral standards. Marxism brings hatred, tyranny, death and destruction. Socialist/communist leaders comprise a who’s who of the world’s worst mass murders including Joseph Stalin, Adolf Hitler, General Mao, Pol Pot and Ceusescu. Even Benito Mussolini’s totalitarian fascist regime was driven by his moral relativist, atheist philosophy and was formed by his socialist past. Modern intellectuals attempt to recast Mussolini as "right wing" although his relativistic, atheist philosophy and socialist roots were distinctly left-wing. The following are examples of tyrants who followed socialist/marxist and left-wing philosophies:

Person Body Count Atrocities committed and socialist/marxist connections
Josef Stalin
Communist Dictator
Russia

1932-1953

20-60 million
  • Killed up to 60 million people and imprisoned millions more in labour camps(10)
  • Killed up to 10 million Ukranians by starvation in what is called the "Ukranian genocide".
  • Was an avowed atheist and communist.
Adolf Hitler
Socialist Dictator
Germany

1933-1945
 11 - 46 million
  • Hitler was a socialist. His party was called the National Socialist Party, from which we get the abbreviation "NAZI".
  • Hitler himself said in 1927, "We are socialists, we are enemies of today's capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak"(11). Again in 1941 Hitler said: "basically National Socialism and Marxism are the same".(12)
  • Responsible for the mass slaughter of 6 million Jews, 3 million Polish catholics, plus many others. If the casualties of WWII are included in his body count, the number is 46 million.
  • Hitler hated Christianity almost as much as Judaism. Some quotes from Hitler in his own words:

-"I hate the Jews because they have given that man, Jesus, to the world" (13)
-"Christianity was an invention of the Jews" (14)

  • All of the top Nazi's, if you read their writings, despised Christianity. Martin Bormann who was one of Hitler's henchmen said: "National socialism and Christianity are irreconcilable". (15)
  • Goebbels, his notorious propagandist said: "Hitler views Christianity as a symptom of decay. It is a branch of the Jewish race, and in the end, it too will be destroyed". (16)
  • National socialism was basically a pagan assault on the Judeo-Christian ethic. (17) Nazis hated Christian moral teaching.
  • Apologists for socialism attempt to detach themselves from these sins by claiming (falsely) that it was "nationalism" rather than Hitler's socialist ideology which caused his mass murdering. At best that is a weak ploy to eject a mass murderer from among their ranks. Honest socialists should admit that Hitler was one of theirs and move on. At their worst, some try to unburden their responsibility onto the backs of Christians by suggesting that it was "Christian Germany" rather than "socialist Hitler" who murdered the Jews and others.
  • Today, left-leaning academics disingenuously try to recast the Nazi's as "right-wing". However, the Nazi doctrines differed very little from that of soviet communists whom everybody recognizes as left wing. For a good explanation, click here to see a short Glen Beck video. The explanation begins at 2 min 40 sec into the video.
 Mao Zedong
Communist Dictator
China

1927-1976
 49-77 million
  • Killed tens of millions in establishing his communist dictatorship
  • His rule was based on communist, collectivist view of a society free from God
  • Communist China today still continues brutal and murderous policies. In 1989, its government ordered tanks to roll over students in the infamous Tienamen Square massacre. As part of its population control program today, the state sometimes abducts pregnant women and gives them forced abortions.
 Pol Pot
Communist Dictator
Cambodia

1927-1976
 2-3 million
  •  Killed roughly 2.5 million people over 3 years – almost half his country’s population.
  • As an atheistic communist, Pot was unbound from any moral absolutes, permitting his will and hatred to be the only rule.
Elias Calles
Socialist/Athiest
Dictator
Mexico

1924-1935
6-10
thousand
  • Took over most industries and property, a core belief of socialists/marxists who oppose property rights for individuals.
  • Slaughtered at least 6000 Catholics plus hundreds of priests, mostly by firing squad.
  • Outlawed the Catholic religion.
  • Was a militant athiest, Mason and followed an agenda of extinguishing the Catholic church from Mexico.
 Benito Mussolini
Fascist Atheist Dictator
Italy

1922-1945
 430 thousand
  • Responsible for the deaths of 400,000 Italians and 30,000 Ethiopians throughout his dictatorship.
  • Mussolini was a philosopher. He wrote a book in which he admitted that it was his atheist, relativism which drove his actions: "Everything I have said and done in these last years is relativism...From the fact that all ideologies are mere fictions, the modern relativist infers that everybody has the right to create for himself his own ideology, and to attempt to enforce it with all the energy of which he is capable. If relativism signifies contempt for fixed categories, and men who claim to be bearers of an objective immortal truth, then there is nothing more relativistic than fascism." (18)
  • His career began as editor of two socialist newspapers. He was also leader of the Italian Socialist Party before creating his own offshoot ideology called "fascism". (19) Just before his capture in 1945, as Italy was losing the war, Mussolini is reported to have re-embraced socialism.
Total killed:  88 - 186 million by socialism, communism, and leftist relativism.

Today’s left-wing apologists try to distract from these socialistic/atheistic atrocities by claiming that "religious groups" have killed equal or greater numbers. For instance, they’ll make the claim that the Catholic Church "murdered millions" during the Inquisition. In fact, this wild claim has no factual support. It is the stuff of urban legends.

The historical record shows there were fewer than 2000 people put to death over a 350 year period during which the inquisitions existed in a number of Catholic countries.(20) That boils down to about 6 guys killed per year. Pol Pot, who is in the minor leagues of atheist dictators, managed to kill almost 1 million people per year. Therefore, the leftist apologists have no defense against the clear evidence that marxist, socialist and atheistic regimes bring death, hatred and human oppression that far outstrips any violence ever perpetrated by religious believers.
