Sex-ed monthly protest rallies kick-off in Ajax

A group of 20 concerned parents and other citizens of good will attended the kick-off rally outside Liberal MPP Joe Dickson's office on February 2nd to protest the Wynne-Levin radical sex-ed curriculum that's being forced on school children regardless of their parents' wishes. The rally, organized by Durham Concerned Parents was the first in a series of monthly rallies that will take place at the Ajax-Pickering MPP's office to maintain pressure against the Liberals' scheme to indoctrinate children into sexual and gender ideology against the wishes of many parents.

Rally organizers said that CLC was instrumental in informing the protesters about the event. In addition, several protesters are members of parental rights organization Parents as First Educators (PAFE). Some protesters came from parishes in the area including St. Bernadette's Catholic Church and St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church thanks to the local Knights of Columbus branch sharing rally information. Thank you, Knights! Also, stalwart sex-ed protest organizer Christina Liu of Parents Alliance of Ontario (PAO) attended the kick-off rally to show that group's support.

Unfortunately, MPP Dickson was not at his constituency office during the rally, and no media showed up to cover the protest. Organizers reported that only a single passerby was opposed to the group’s message. All others were supportive.

Despite MPP Dickson's absence, Jennifer of Durham Concerned Parents presented signed petitions against the sex-ed program to the MPP's secretary, who stated that Mr. Dickson had allegedly brought up parents' concerns over the issue with Kathleen Wynne and that he intends to face protesters himself at next month's rally. We hope that will materialize.

Rally organizers now want to increase attendance figures at their two related protests coming up on Friday, February 5th and Monday, February 8th, which both target PC candidate Mr. Lorne Coe, who is running in the provincial by-election in Whitby-Oshawa on Thursday, February 11th. CLC urges all concerned parents and other citizens to join those two by-election-specific rallies, as well as to attend the ongoing monthly rallies outside MPP Dickson's constituency office.
