If you are ratepayer in the Waterloo Region public school system, please attend the following meetings of the Waterloo Region District School Board and take a stand for parental rights in education!

On February 8th ant 22nd, the Waterloo Region District School Board of Trustees will hold meetings to vote on two motions by pro-parental-rights Trustee Cindy Watson. The motions aim to block students from being able to access internet pornography on school electronic devices, which would be an important step in protecting children from an increasingly permissive, sexualized environment in our schools.

The following is the formal wording of the Trustee Watson's Motion to be made at the February 22nd Board Meeting:

"That the Waterloo Region District School Board trustees direct staff to conduct a full public consultation regarding the implementation of internet filtering on Waterloo Region District School Board networks; and

"That this consultation include a media release informing stakeholders of the opportunity to provide feedback in the form of a survey; and

"That a Frequently Asked Questions site be developed that answers common questions; and

"That students, parents, teachers, school councils, PIC, WRAPC and SEAC and community members also be provided with some form of communication informing them of the survey."

We also encourage you to lobby your school ward Trustee in advance of each of the two meetings, urging him or her to support Trustee Watson’s motions.
