Canada’s Shame: 1988 to 2003 -15 More Years of Killing preborn Children In 1969 with the Liberal Government’s Omnibus Bill we opened the door to abortion on demand. Since that date more than two and half million babies have been deliberately killed in their mothers’ womb. On January 28, 1988, the Supreme Court continued the downward spiral by its pro-abortion ruling. At that time the Court also said that it was up to Parliament to produce legislation to protect new human life. Our Parliament today is debating Bill C-13, which will allow embryonic humans to be used in scientific experimentation. Abortions continue daily in most Canadian hospitals. Canada is in a state of lawlessness regarding the protection of human life. Our government has failed to produce a law. “As a young
person who has was not even born in 1969 and one who is passionately
opposed to the killing of unborn children, I feel I can speak about
this particular anniversary,” said Gillian Long, speaking on behalf
of Campaign Life Coalition. “The “Public opinion is shifting,” said Jim Hughes, National President of Campaign Life Coalition. “The majority of people in Canada want some protection for human life in the womb and CLC calls on the federal government to produce a law which will recognize and protect every human being”, he said. “Human beings are not commodities to be used for experiments which kill them, and they are not objects which can be disposed of on the whim of another individual.” Human Life is sacred and Campaign Life Coalition will continue in this battle until every life is protected.
