Thursday, November 17, was to be the opening of the National Pro-Life Conference in Montreal, bringing together people from across Canada together in “La Belle Province” to revitalize their spiritual energy, hear guest speakers and prepare for the pro-life battle that await them in the coming year. Hours before the conference was scheduled to begin, the Holy Cross Father, who runs St. Joseph’s Oratory, panicked over threats from the usual crowd of homosexual, radical feminist, pro-abortion, international socialist thugs who attempt to close down any event which does not conform to their “no-choice agenda”. On their web page they threaten to picket, disrupt and in any way possible to cause problems. “You will recall the similar groups desecrated the cathedral in Montreal at the time of the Human Life International Conference, throwing used condoms and sanitary pads on statues and the altar,” said Jim Hughes, National President of Campaign Life Coalition (CLC). “It is too bad that they are so afraid of the truth that they seek to threaten it out of existence. It won’t happen.” “Thank God we were offered meeting space by two Catholic Parishes and one Gospel Church; so the conference will go on.” “I have lost respect for the good fathers who run the oratory,” said Mary Ellen Douglas, National Organizer of CLC. “To cancel a pro-life conference when people have traveled across the country to attend, in which they should be heartily encouraging, is very upsetting.” “Quebec is decimating the province by rampant abortion. A province and a culture which needs to grow cannot continue to abort their next generation, it seems to me Quebec needs the pro-life message even more than the rest of Canada,” she concluded.
