Ontario Provincial By-Election in Whitby-Oshawa

February 11, 2016
Where: TBA

Following the August 28th resignation of Christine Elliott, residents in the provincial riding of Whitby-Oshawa will need to elect a new Member of Provincial Parliament to represent them at Queen’s Park.

Elliott decided to quit provincial politics after she failed to win the PC Leadership, the third such attempt by the long-time MPP.

The byelection has will be held February 11, 2016.

Only one pro-life, pro-family candidate in the race: James Gault

The only known pro-life, pro-family candidate running in the byelection is James Gault, the leader of the New Reform Party of Ontario.  He has filled in a perfect CLC election questionnaire. The New Reform Party was created from the Family Coalition Party, which was officially pro-life and pro-family.  Mr. Gault is very strongly opposed to the Liberal government's age-inappropriate, early childhood sex curriculum.

The PC candidate, Mr. Lorne Coe, did not respond to CLC's questionnaire in spite of numerous requests. There are also photos on the internet of Mr.Coe celebrating with ultra left-wing groups who are totally hostile to social conservative values. Therefore, Coe is presumed to be a social liberal himself and Not Supportable.

The NDP candidate is deemed to be pro-abortion, as per official NDP policy, and therefore Not Supportable. As a party, the NDP has been strongly supportive of the child-sexualizing, Wynne/Levin sex curriculum.

The Liberal candidate, Elizabeth Roy, has not responded to CLC's election questionnaire. However, given that the graphic, age-inappropriate sex curriculum is Kathleen Wynne's top priority, candidate Roy is unlikely to ever speak or act against her leader's interests, even if she were to have reservations about the sex-ed program. It has been CLC's experience that even the few Liberal MPs who are openly pro-life, have thrown their full support behind Kathleen Wynne's pet project.
