Campaign Life Coalition condemns Trudeau event at Catholic School

Cambridge, Sept. 10, 2014 – Liberal leader Justin Trudeau will be hosting a Waterloo Region Community Meet and Greet tonight at École secondaire Père-René-de-Galinée in Cambridge, Ontario, as part of his campaign trail. Considering he has spent the last few months discriminating against and excluding candidates who uphold catholic moral teaching on life and family issues from the Liberal party, Campaign Life Coalition condemns Trudeau for using a Catholic venue to push forward his anti-life political agenda.

“The fact that Trudeau’s meet and greet is held in a Catholic school is a slap in the face to all those Liberals who uphold Catholic teaching on abortion and who have been excluded from running for political office within the Liberal party”, said Jim Hughes, President of Campaign Life Coalition. “I strongly encourage Catholic rate payers in the region to contact their trustees and demand that this event be cancelled.”

Campaign Life Coalition demands an explanation from the Catholic school board (Conseil scolaire de district catholique Centre-Sud) as to why they are allowing a political leader who is fundamentally and clearly at odds with Catholic moral teaching to speak in one of their schools.
