Petition: No Vaccine from Aborted Babies!
Dear Minister of Health,
In response to the coronavirus pandemic, governments all across the world are working with scientists to push for the rapid development of an effective vaccine. This vaccine, it is hoped, will prevent the spread of the disease and save many lives.
However, it is imperative that we take every precaution to ensure the resultant vaccine will be both safe and ethical. It would be an enormous disgrace and unspeakable evil if this medical “solution” were to cause more harm than good.
Therefore, I am greatly disturbed to learn that Health Canada is working with China to develop and test an unethical coronavirus vaccine. This vaccine was derived from the kidney cells of a baby who was killed by abortion, known as the HEK293 cell line.
As the Minister of Health, the onus lies on you to oversee the development, production, and implementation of a coronavirus vaccine during this time of crisis. In order to safeguard the health of Canadians and preserve the trust they have placed in you, the Prime Minister, and his cabinet, you must guarantee that any government-sponsored vaccine is both safe and ethical. You must ensure the highest standards are maintained from beginning to end.
Therefore, I call on you to categorically reject the use of aborted human babies in the creation or production of any coronavirus vaccine. It is a repugnant, Frankenstein science that sanctions the dismemberment and murder of our smallest fellow humans in order to harvest their cells for medical experimentation. It is ethically unacceptable to maim or murder one innocent person in order to benefit another. Such an act is even more egregious when the victim is disadvantaged and vulnerable, as all preborn children are.
According to the Nuremberg Code, the international standard for medical experimentation developed in response to the atrocities committed by Nazi Germany: “The voluntary consent of the human subject is absolutely essential.” This, of course, is impossible in research exploiting human fetal cells. The aborted child whose body was exploited to produce the HEK293 cell line was given no choice.
The Nuremberg Code also states: “The experiment should be such as to yield fruitful results for the good of society, unprocurable by other methods or means of study, and not random and unnecessary in nature.”
Given the fact that promising research is already taking place in laboratories that do not use human fetal cells, it is morally incumbent on you to direct the focus and funds of the Canadian government to these efforts.
Vaccines can be developed using “adult stem cells” taken from the bone marrow, liver, fat, or even skin cells of consenting adult donors. Umbilical cord blood is also a rich and totally ethical source of stem cells, since the baby is not harmed at all. In addition, insect and animal cells may be used as well.
Exploiting the cells harvested from a helpless unborn child slain by abortion is a grotesque idea that no civilized government should sanction.
By continuing to promote an unethical vaccine, you are not only facilitating a crime against humanity and undermining the sanctity of human life, you are setting the stage for more coronavirus deaths as millions of Canadians will object to such a controversial “solution”.
I ask that you immediately discontinue all partnerships and funding involving unethical research and focus exclusively on ethical research to create a safe and morally-acceptable vaccine.
