Xiaoming is an advocate for common sense in public policy, having courageously posted an online article criticizing school boards who hang the homosexual pride flag next to Canada's national flag. He points out such a politically-motivated gesture has no place in our school community, and is not in the best interests of students.
Indeed the latest LGBT power play of imposing gay flags on all public schools throughout the entire month of June - as the Waterloo District School Board has done - is culturally insensitive and disrespectful towards the religious and ethnic diversity that exists in Waterloo Region.
School trustees, teachers and board staff- whose salaries are paid by the taxes of parents - have no business pushing this sexual political agenda on children and families. Additionally, it makes traditionally-principled children and their families feel unwelcome, excluded and unsafe at school, and for many children, even afraid that they may be be bullied for their religious or cultural beliefs. Forcing children to see the homosexual pride flag hang over their heads every day at school denies children from traditionally-principled communities the ability to see themselves reflected in the school environment, and unable to be who they are for fear of discriminatory attitudes, harassment and bullying.
