2014 Elections for School Board Representatives

This fall, a number of provinces (BC, MB, ON, PEI and rural municipalities in SK) are holding municipal and school board elections. With so much attention given to Federal and Provincial politics, the importance of local elections is usually under-appreciated by the public. Voter turnout is usually less than half. The irony is that the decisions of school board representatives often affect our day-to-day lives to a greater degree than higher levels of politics.

Will you uphold pro-life values & parental rights in our schools?

We need elected representatives to stand up and speak up at this level of politics, especially when it comes to moral issues. We need pro-life and pro-family representatives in all school boards (Public & Catholic) who will ensure that our children receive the quality education they deserve.

In addition to the various issues pertaining to the management of schools, school board representatives/trustees are often a last line of defense when it comes to protecting parental rights and rejecting radical sex-education programs pushed forward by the Ministry of Education and leftist Teachers Unions.

These Sex Ed agendas, whether in Public or Catholic schools, are almost always age-inappropriate and influenced by harmful ideologies that have nothing to do with teaching facts. Instead, these ideologies, such as promoting the disputed theory of "gender identity", and celebrating all sexual preferences, have the objective of imprinting the values of a small number of activists onto our children and grandchildren.

For instance, the gender identity theory teaches students that whether you're a boy or a girl has nothing to do with your bodily reality. It is merely a "social construct" that can be changed back and forth depending how you "feel" about it in your mind.

This is tantamount to child abuse because it risks causing psycho-sexual confusion in the minds of the young. No teacher should be planting doubt in the minds of young children about whether they're really a boy or a girl. Yet, this disputed theory is seeping into early grade curriculum and lesson plans, right across Canada.

Just this month, a gay-activist teacher employed by the Toronto District School Board announced plans to launch a new series of picture books, targeting pre-Kindergarten that will introduce 3 year olds to the theory of Gender Identity, Transgenderism, Transsexualism, and all the forms of homosexuality. Read about it here. Will this lead to sexually confusing some children? How can it not?

This harmful assault on childhood innocence is happening under the noses of (or at times with the full cooperation of) our elected school board representatives. That's why we need to elect God-fearing school board trustees willing to to tackle the gender politics that so many radical activists in the education field are pushing.

The Globe and Mail recently reported that Ontario trustees are responsible for the education of more than 2 million children, and control $20 billion in funding. The impact on our culture of this state indoctrination is enormous..

If people of faith do not get involved at this local level, we surrender these important positions to a minority of people who do get involved, and in most cases, they do not share our pro-life and pro-family values. The spiritual (and often the physical well-being) of your children and grand-children is at stake in this decision of who gets elected as school board representatives.

Campaign Life Coalition is seeking candidates for school board elections

Are you a fairly competent speaker, professional in how you deal with others, and passionate about protecting parental rights and the innocence of our children? If so, will you consider running for your local Public or Catholic school board?

If you are unable to seek this vital public office, perhaps you know someone in your family or circle of friends who would make an excellent candidate? Please talk to them about registering as a candidate with their municipal clerk and then introduce them to CLC.

Before you register however, please check with CLC whether or not a supportable candidate already exists in the electoral district / school ward you're looking at. We don't want to split the pro-life vote by having more than one supportable candidate in each ward.

Most registration deadlines for school board are early September (click on the links below for exact dates), so if you are interested in running for this important office, please contact CLC's national office (1-800-730-5358) immediately to see what kind of assistance we can provide.

Our Children need you.
