Trustee Morrison opposes pro-life flag
When you think of a Catholic school board, you naturally imagine that its trustees would be happy to promote the teachings of the Catholic Church, including its teaching against abortion, right?
Sadly, this does not appear to be the case with Trustee Kevin Morrison, your Toronto Catholic District School Board representative in Ward 9, where you live.
To my shock and dismay, Morrison lashed out and attacked a potentially life-saving, anti-abortion motion by his board colleague, Trustee Michael Del Grande!
Trustee Del Grande had introduced a motion that, if passed, would require all TCDSB Catholic schools to fly the International Pro-Life flag during the month of May, annually, in solidarity with the National March For Life taking place on May 9th.
The motion will be voted on by the board on Tuesday, April 23rd. That's tonight!
Ponder the following...
How many preborn babies' lives might be saved throughout Toronto when abortion-vulnerable students, and others in the community, see this beautiful flag, and draw strength from it to make a loving choice for their baby?
In an interview with the Toronto Star, Trustee Morrison disparaged the pro-life flag motion as a "complete waste of our time" and "absolutely bizarre".
How cruel, callous and uncaring can Morrison be to these little children? Has he no mercy in his heart?
Let's be blunt here. We're talking about babies who are going to be killed by abortion!
There exists in Canada no human beings more vulnerable, more marginalized, and more voiceless than children in the womb.
If he's truly Catholic, I don't know how Morrison can sleep at night, knowing that he voted against being a voice for these vulnerable and marginalized unborn children.
Hypocritically, Morrison told The Catholic Register newspaper that the transgender and homosexual Pride flag, which is flown at all TCDSB schools each year during the month of June, will stay forever and "cannot be undone". At the same time, he believes it would be wrong to fly the Pro-life flag!
How absurd is this, and how totally contrary to the mind of Christ?
What I want to leave you with, is this....
If Trustee Morrison does not have a change of heart before tonight's vote, and proceeds to vote against the International Pro-life Flag, then we will need to start mobilizing immediately to defeat him when the next school board elections take place in 2026!
