The WCDSB vs. Parents
Something incredibly underhanded took place at the last Waterloo Catholic District School Board meeting, held on February 24th.
Four concerned parents and grandparents who had registered as delegates were trying to convince the trustees to rid the schools of the LGBT propaganda books in their libraries.
They made rather powerful presentations, too, but they ran into a problem – censorship - from the very school board they support with their tax dollars.
I’m floored by this anti-democratic development, which is why I need to share the details about what happened at that board meeting...
Packed board room for parent delegations
A packed gallery with over 120 parents and ratepayers watched and applauded the four delegations. A small group of LGBT activists also attended, along with the local OECTA union boss (who had asked pro-LGBT teachers to come in opposition to the parent delegations).
I wish I could actually share video links in this email so you could watch the delegations yourself, but there’s one little problem….
The woke Director of Education, Tyrone Dowling, banned public observers from making video recordings of the public board meeting!
He directed at least five hired security guards to remove observers who dared to record or even photograph the delegations.
What part of “public meeting” does the Director not understand?
This was a ludicrous censorship edict, especially since most other school boards voluntarily live-stream their public meetings for the world to see, in the interest of transparency and accountability.
The WCDSB has now received an attorney’s letter warning of a potential lawsuit if it does not rescind this unconstitutional censorship policy.
What was the WCDSB trying to hide?
Clearly, Director Dowling didn’t want Catholic parents to learn that inappropriate, sexualized LGBT propaganda books are awash in their libraries and classrooms.
It would seem he was trying to hide the board’s dark deeds from public scrutiny, but despite those heavy-handed tactics, the truth has a way of getting out.
We will now give you some highlights from those presentations…
Jack Fonseca, Catholic dad and WCDSB ratepayer
Our very own Director of Political Operations, Jack Fonseca, lives in and pays taxes to the WCDSB.
His presentation was amazing.
He read out loud from a steamy homosexual romance novel targeting teens, and which had been discovered at Canadian Martyrs Elementary School in Kitchener where students are as young as 4 years old.
Jack read from pages filled with sexual tension so thick that you could cut it with a knife.
In one of the pages, he cited a boy saying he wanted to “sleep with” another boy and used vulgar language. From another page, he cited passionate kissing in the school hallway between two boys, as onlookers cheered.
Jack used the WCDSB’s video projector to show pages from other books on the board room’s big screen, for every trustee to see with their own eyes.
His presentation was met with thunderous applause from the gallery.
Jack was so angry about the board banning all recordings, that after the meeting, he re-read his speech at home and recorded it so CLC could share it with the community. We’re pleased to let you watch his full delegation – the presentation the board’s woke director never wanted the public to see – by clicking the image below or here.
Joshua Hayek, Faithful Catholic taxpayer
A devout Catholic tax payer named Joshua made very thoughtful and straightforward points about the immoral nature of the books in question, and their incompatibility with the Catholic religion. Here’s an excerpt from his speech:
“As Catholic parents and citizen rate payers, the expense allotted to a non-academic and woke expenditure is worrisome and not accepted by most parents and is not in accord with God’s Teachings.
“Our focus as parents, teachers, community, and trustees is the correct Catholic formation of children that permeates the academic and social development of all children...
“The books discovered at the aforementioned school had inappropriate sexualized content and propaganda aimed at sexualizing the malleable minds of children….When we inadvertently place obstacles in the way of the developing virtues of children we are tacitly teaching them that sin is ‘natural’ and permitted by God, when in reality it is not.”
Alicia Hailu, young Catholic mom
A young Catholic mother with a son in Grade 2 spoke out eloquently against the LGBT indoctrination books.
She started out by quoting section 2357 to 2359 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church which makes it abundantly clear that homosexual lifestyles can never be approved.
Then she went on to explain why the books are inappropriate in Catholic schools and gently rebuked the trustees for failing to defend the faith.
“All of the above listed books in Waterloo Catholic libraries are ones that promote homosexuality and gender identity confusion, and which contradict the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
“You cannot claim to be faithful to Jesus Christ and to Catholic Christian beliefs and also have these books in your libraries and classrooms. The latter is diametrically opposed to the former.”
In response to follow-up questions from trustees, Alicia revealed that last year, her son, in Grade 1 at the time, brought home from the library a “manipulative” illustrated children’s book called “And Tango Makes Three” about two male homosexual penguins raising a baby penguin.
She described how it was shocking and hurtful to have her young son exposed to such anti-Christian programming without her knowledge or approval.
Brenda Gosse, retired teacher with three granddaughters attending WCDSB schools
Brenda is retired from teaching in the Waterloo Region public school board and attends a church from a non-Catholic denomination. However, she considers herself a stakeholder because she has two young granddaughters, plus a teenage granddaughter currently attending Catholic schools.
Brenda decided to delegate to protect their Christian faith from being undermined. She read some of the highly sexualized pages in a homosexual teen romance book called “Stuck with You”, and then told trustees:
“Nobody can dispute that this undermines Christian moral teaching, or that it is age-inappropriate for children in Kindergarten to Grade 8. So why is it in Canadian Martyrs’ library, and likely the library of many other WCDSB elementary schools? Would you honestly want YOUR own children reading these kinds of books?
“The books with swearing and which aim to excite feelings of sexual tension in the minds of young readers don’t belong in ANY children’s library, much less a Roman Catholic one.”
As a Catholic myself, I’m so proud of this faithful Protestant woman for coming to the aid of separate schools and the vulnerable children in their care. May God bless her.
I pray that other Protestant Christians, Muslims, Sikhs and people of other faiths whose children attend separate schools as a refuge from the sexual filth being taught much more openly in the public secular schools will also come forward to delegate at the next Board Meeting on March 24th.
CALL-TO-ACTION: We’ve got momentum! Now, we have to keep pushing.
The four delegations and strong attendance by the Catholic community made a visible impact on the trustees.
The key to finally removing the LGBT propaganda books from school libraries is to keep pushing, month in, month out, until our demands are satisfied.
We need parents, grandparents and stakeholders to apply to delegate at the next board meeting (March 24th). And then the one after that. And then the one after that, etc., until the board agrees to do what we demand.
Persistence, together with prayer, is the key.
I believe another valuable strategy is for delegates to read new material that hasn’t already been addressed by past delegations.
This can be reading or addressing different passages from the same trove of books discovered at Canadian Martyrs Elementary School. It can also be by finding new LGBT propaganda books that are also available at WCDSB libraries and reading excerpts from those books.
Sadly, there are plenty of choices, since the WCDSB is chock full of gay and transgender propaganda.
Previous delegates can speak again, too, but should be careful not to repeat themselves, and to either cover different books or different passages from the same books.
Please apply to delegate!
To register as a delegate for the March 24th board meeting, simply contact Stephanie Medeiros at [email protected].
If you’d like to delegate, but you aren’t sure about what’s involved, reply to this email and we can talk about it. May God bless you and your children.
If you’re on X, here’s a post we made that you could share with your followers.
