The woke are reaping what they sowed

What happens when woke school board trustees waste an enormous amount of taxpayer dollars on a vendetta to silence and destroy one of their own colleagues?

They may feel good about themselves for a while, but eventually – they reap what they sow.

A case in point …

On June 27th, the Toronto Catholic District School Board was placed under provincial supervision by Ontario’s Education Minister Paul Calandra.

As a result, the elected trustees and Director of Education's powers have been totally suspended. Now, TCDSB trustees are humiliatingly not allowed onto school property, they can’t represent the board to their constituents, they can’t attend meetings, nothing.

A government bureaucrat has been appointed to run the board for the time being.

The Education Minister’s move is problematic for democratic reasons, but one has to wonder …

Why would the province take such a dramatic measure with the Toronto Catholic board?

The Ontario government says the takeover was necessary because of severe financial mismanagement at the board.

My oh my, that is so embarrassing for the current Board Chair, Markus de Domenico, who has the most say out of all the trustees in approving expenditures.

Hmmm...

Now, what do we know about how the TCDSB has wasted taxpayer money in recent years?

Well, for starters, Board Chair de Domenico, along with the woke, pro-LGBT majority of trustees on the board, have been paying top Toronto law firms – some of the most expensive in Canada – to persecute their colleague, Trustee Mike Del Grande.

My research has found that these top litigation firms can charge more than $1,500 per hour depending on the client.

Although the TCDSB has never published how much money it wasted in legal fees attacking Del Grande, in my opinion, it’s likely between $1 million to $2 million dollars based on my calculations.

The radically pro-LGBT Chair Markus de Domenico, along with leftist Trustee Maria Rizzo, have led the charge since 2019 in conducting lawfare against Mike, paying high priced lawyers with taxpayer money all along the way.

Why did they do this?

For the stupidest of all reasons.

Mike dared to defend Catholic teaching by objecting to the woke majority’s plan to push transgender ideology in Catholic schools.

So, they prosecuted him with a trustee misconduct trial that was totally illegal. And when Del Grande retained a lawyer to overturn it, instead of backing down, the TCDSB doubled-down and got super-costly lawyers to fight him for almost six years, first at board hearings and then in real court! All at taxpayer expense.

Is it any wonder that when the Education Minister sees potentially millions of dollars needlessly spent on lawyers fees, and a gigantic spending deficit, that he views the trustees as being financially incompetent?

Trustees Markus de Domenico (Ward 2), Maria Rizzo (Ward 5), Joseph Martino (Ward 1) and the other wokesters brought this government takeover down on their own heads.

Of course, massive, unnecessary legal fees wasn’t the only wasteful spending, but it was a significant amount.

These ruthless trustees have not only placed Toronto's Catholic education system in danger with their woke agenda, they've also placed great personal and financial stress on their faithful Catholic colleague, Trustee Del Grande.

The heretical, pro-LGBT trustees at the TCDSB are now paying the price for their history of disastrous decision making, a legacy that includes the hefty price-tag of their taxpayer-funded witch hunt against Mike.

Our hero Mike Del Grande deserves a different fate from the one his colleagues have brought upon the board.

In fact, he deserves our respect and gratitude for standing up to these thugs.

On that note, will you please donate to his legal defense fund which is still only at 36% of the crowdfunding goal?

The courts ordered Mike to pay the TCDSB $200,000 in legal fees, which is no small sum and …

We always talk about wanting our elected officials to stand up for life and the family, no matter the cost, so when a man like Michael steps up, we should let him know we have his back.

If you’ve already donated to support Del Grande’s legal defence fund, thank you kindly.

If you haven’t had a chance, then here’s your opportunity.

Please click here and donate $25, $50, or even $100 if it’s within your means. Any amount, though, would be a great help, especially during these tough times.

Don’t forget to pray for Mike, too, and his colleagues at the TCDSB.

Thank you kindly for your support in this and God bless.

For life and family.
