10 years and 100,000 killings. That is what our Liberal government’s exceedingly liberal euthanasia protocol has given us. And it’s only going to get worse, unless our MPs agree to pass Bill C-218 NOW.

More and more Canadians are choosing lethal injection over life when faced with a grievous physical illness or disability. So-called “medical assistance in dying” (MAiD) has become the accepted – and even preferred – option for many whose lives are perceived as being hopeless or even “worthless”. Unfortunately, under our socialized healthcare system, many are simply not receiving the appropriate treatment, timely care, or basic human compassion that would make the difference.

As of this moment, 5% of all deaths in Canada are executed by legal medical poisoning. That’s about 45 killings a day. And death doctors like B.C.’s Dr. Ellen Wiebe are downright giddy over their licence to kill.

But this is just the beginning. We are only one year away from even more death and dehumanization, if the Liberal government gets its way. The clock is ticking.

A mere 12 months from now, on March 17, 2027, the legal protections that safeguard the mentally ill from euthanasia will be removed. Those adults experiencing depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, addiction, autism, eating disorders, or any other mental illness will soon qualify as “killable” under Canada’s ever-expanding “MAiD service”.

Those troubled souls who are disturbed in their thoughts and feelings are in need of our protection and support – assistance to live and thrive – not assistance to despair and die!

It’s truly astonishing – and deeply disturbing – how quickly what was once illegal and unthinkable has become completely normalized in our society. Canada has much blood on its hands, and her leaders will one day give an account before God for their complicity in the mass-murder of the most vulnerable.

We’ve opened up Pandora’s Box of killing, and it is very hard to close it again. Next on the hit list are those who are mentally ill. After that, who will it be?

Already, the Quebec College of Physicians is pushing for the euthanasia of babies and infants with a disability or disease.

Next, will it be those who are poor or unemployed? In fact, we’ve already seen cases of euthanasia being executed primarily due to poverty.

We need to urgently speak up against the expansion of euthanasia in our nation, especially as March 17, 2027 approaches.

It is a bitter irony that this date is also St. Patrick’s Day, named for the Christian saint who brought the Gospel of Life to Ireland.

May his words be our prayer for Canada, as we ask the Lord to redirect our nation into His path of light and life: “May the strength of God pilot us, may the wisdom of God instruct us, may the hand of God protect us, may the word of God direct us.”
