Liberal Time Bomb Targets Mentally Ill
Time is running out to save those struggling with mental illness in Canada.
Several years ago, the Liberals placed a time-based clause in the law that will shortly trigger the next stage in their twisted euthanasia program (so-called “MAiD”).
No vote in Parliament is required. No debate or discussion is needed. The expanded killing clause kicks in automatically – targeting the mentally ill.
Like a cowardly assassin who places a bomb, sets a timer, then runs away and hides, the Liberals have planted their “MAiD bomb”. Now they are watching from the sidelines in cowardice until the clock ticks down and thousands more vulnerable Canadians are set to be euthanized, leaving family and friends to deal with the fall-out.
March 17th, 2027 – just five months from now – is the day when anyone with any mental or psychological condition can claim their suffering is “grievous and irremediable” and thus “qualify” for death by lethal injection. The mentally ill become “killable” and disposable.
The number of euthanasia killings – which already shockingly represent over 5% of all deaths in Canada – is about to skyrocket, as those who are troubled in mind with suicidal thoughts will be hastened to their death by government edict. The very doctors and nurses dedicated to saving lives will now be employed as grim reapers.
Only the opposition Conservatives have stepped forward to try to reverse course and defuse this “MAiD bomb”. The Hon. Tamara Jansen (Conservative MP for Cloverdale-Langley City) has introduced Bill C-218, which would remove the time-based killing clause and SAVE the mentally ill from medical murder.
However, we need to urge our Members of Parliament to support this life-saving Bill while there’s still time. To pass this Bill, we need all 137 Conservative votes, 6 NDP and Green votes, along with 29 Liberals willing to break ranks. All 21 Bloc Québécois MPs are pro-euthanasia and are expected to reject Bill C-218.
This Bill will be voted on October 7th, which means our MPs need to hear from us right now! We need to speak up and pray for God to change the hearts and minds of Liberal MPs!
Actual clinical experts (not politicians) tell us that mental illness is always treatable, and recovery is never impossible. According to Dr. Romeo Vitelli, writing in Psychology Today, “While someone with extreme depression, chronic trauma, severe personality instability, or profound hopelessness may actually believe that their suffering is forever, it can still change due to treatment, social support, better relationships, or just the passage of time.”
According to Dr. Mark Komrad and Dr. Catherine Ferrier, writing in the Psychiatric Times, offering death for mental illness turns the practice of psychiatry on its head. They explain that “to administer the means to actively produce death is anathema to medical ethics, but particularly for psychiatrists, whose daily work and fundamental ethos is to prevent suicide.”
In an official statement of the American Psychiatric Association, experts warn, “Labeling a mental illness as terminal or irremediable is inconsistent with present treatment approaches in psychiatry, and there are reasonable concerns that PAD [physician-assisted death] could become an alternative to the provision of adequate treatment and social support.”
Even the Canadian Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) has stated that death must not be used as a “treatment” for mental illness.
According to 2025 statistics, Canada ranks 22 out of 28 developed countries in terms of availability of psychiatric beds. It ranks 16 in terms of the number of psychiatrists per person. The wait time for psychiatric care, on average, is nearly 25 weeks, while a lethal injection will soon be provided in just under 13 weeks.
Our politicians need to do the math and “follow the science”. What will be easier for those in psychiatric distress – waiting 25 weeks for treatment, or 13 weeks for euthanasia?
Bill C-218 will defuse the Liberals’ “MAiD bomb” and help protect those suffering with mental illness. Those who are troubled in mind and soul need life-giving support and medical care. We must never abandon them to despair or treat them as disposable or “killable”.
