Canada protects trees—Now protect preborn children

To the Prime Minister of Canada, the Minister of Justice, and Members of Parliament:

A Quebec town recently recognized trees as living beings with rights, including the “right to life.”

Trees deserve care. But what about children in the womb?

In Canada, preborn children have no legal protection. Since the 1988 Morgentaler decision, Parliament has failed to pass a law protecting the youngest and most vulnerable members of the human family.

This means that while a tree can be publicly recognized as having a “right to life,” a preborn child can be killed by abortion at any stage of pregnancy.

This is a moral contradiction Canada can no longer ignore.

Preborn children are living human beings. They grow, develop, possess their own unique DNA, and have a future all their own.

If Canada can recognize the value of a tree, it can recognize the humanity of a child.

Humans must come before trees.

Sign this petition calling on Parliament to introduce legal protections for preborn children.
