Justice served: Convicted child pornographer and former Deputy Education Minister gets 3 years

Toronto, May 29, 2015 – Campaign Life Coalition agrees with the Ontario Court for sentencing convicted child pornographer and former Deputy Education Minister, Ben Levin, to three years behind bars. This decision confirms the growing opposition by thousands of parents across the province who are demanding that Kathleen Wynne scrap the controversial sex-education curriculum that was created under Levin’s supervision.

“Ben Levin’s prison sentence is another reminder to Ontario families of why they must continue to oppose Kathleen Wynne’s sex-ed curriculum,” said Mary Ellen Douglas, Ontario President, Campaign life Coalition. “Even though the Premier denies Levin’s influence in the curriculum, parents are not falling for it. This curriculum must be stopped.”

The curriculum that Kathleen Wynne is determined to introduce in Ontario schools come September, is almost identical to the 2010 curriculum that was overseen by Ben Levin. The opposition to this radical curriculum continues to grow as evidenced by petitions totaling almost 140,000 signatories. View petitions here and here

“No parent wants their children exposed to a curriculum with topics and discussions around sexuality at too young of an age, let alone if the content was overseen by a convicted child pornographer,” said Jeff Gunnarson, Vice-President of Campaign Life Coalition.

Campaign Life Coalition urges Premier Kathleen Wynne’s Liberal government to protect children by scrapping this curriculum altogether.
