Campaign Life Coalition joins Canadian pro-life movement in sending clear message to Parliament in newly released 2016 National March for Life video: #EndTheKilling

Toronto, March 14, 2016 – With the largest annual pro-life event in Canada two months away, Campaign Life Coalition joins many other Canadian pro-life organizations in demanding that Parliament #EndTheKilling, in a newly released March for Life video. The March for Life is planned for May 12, 2016 in the nation’s capital.

“In Canada, not all human life is equally protected under law and many elected officials want to keep it that way,” said Jim Hughes, President of Campaign Life Coalition. “Additionally, our current government under Prime Minister Trudeau, is promising to massively expand abortion access throughout the country and abroad, as well as eagerly complying with the Supreme Court’s edict that Parliament legalize the killing of people by physicians.”

“Abortion is the deliberate killing of an innocent human being, no one can deny that” said Mary Ellen Douglas, National Organizer for Campaign Life Coalition. “We urge every elected Member of Parliament, regardless of party, to #EndTheKilling, and to ensure that human rights belong to all human beings”

“In the face of these admittedly large obstacles, we are nonetheless more united as a movement than ever and we will continue to voice the need for legal protection for every human life at all its stages in Canada and abroad,” said Christina Alaimo, CLC Youth Coordinator for Campaign Life Coalition.

On Thursday, May 12, the pre-march rally, which begins on Parliament Hill at 12 noon, will feature several speakers including parliamentarians and pro-life and religious leaders. The March through downtown Ottawa starts at 1:30 pm. Other March for Life related events include a Candlelight vigil on May 11, a Rose Dinner (featuring African activist and speaker Obianuju Ekeocha) and Youth Banquet following the march, and a full day Youth Conference on Friday May 13.

The official 2016 March for Life video and poster are now available at marchforlife.ca to download and circulate in communities across the country.
