CLC thanks Premier Ford for repealing sex-ed in time for new school year
Toronto, July 11, 2018 – Today, Education Minister Lisa Thompson announced that the Doug Ford government will repeal Kathleen Wynne’s controversial sex curriculum immediately, and that the previous curriculum will be used for classroom instruction in the new 2018/2019 school year. She also said that the government would move quickly to consult parents on how to update the curriculum.
"We are very happy to see the radical sex curriculum repealed," said Campaign Life Coalition National President Jim Hughes. "We look forward to the genuine consultations with parents and hope that Wynne's ideological agenda will be scrapped completely."
"Wynne had fake consultations with one carefully selected parent representative from a mere 1,638 schools answering a vague questionnaire with motherhood statements that everybody would agree with," said CLC Vice President Jeff Gunnarson. "The Ford government needs to consult all the parents across Ontario who care deeply about the facts and values their children learn in their early, formative years as young kids and pre-teens. And furthermore, that consultation should enable feedback in multiple languages so that parents in ethnic communities who speak Chinese, Arabic, Punjabi and others are actually able to participate. "
CLC encourages the Ford government to hold a genuine consultation process where real parents are the primary stakeholders consulted to write a new sex ed curriculum, not the far-left sex activists consulted by Kathleen Wynne, like Planned Parenthood Toronto who produce obscene sex ed resources for 13 year olds.
