Citizens rally at Liberal MP offices across Canada against anti-Christian Bill C-9

Hundreds of Canadians rallied outside Liberal MP offices across the country today to protest Bill C-9, dubbed the “anti-Christian Bill,” which is currently being debated in the Senate. Protests were held from 12–1 p.m. local time at 44 constituency offices of Liberal MPs across nine provinces.
“Liberal MPs are responsible for this censorship bill, which aims to criminalize politically incorrect passages of the Holy Bible, and other sacred texts, as ‘hate speech,’” said Jack Fonseca, Campaign Life Coalition’s Director of Political Operations. “If the Senate passes C-9 into law, it is Liberal MPs who will be blamed by constituents, and they’ll certainly face backlash at the ballot box in the next election.”
The protests were organized by Campaign Life Coalition to put pressure on Prime Minister Mark Carney to lean on the 81 Liberal-appointed Senators to bury, or at the very least, amend the bill by restoring the “good faith” religious defence to the Criminal Code, so that people of faith cannot be charged for quoting Bible passages or for expressing biblically based moral beliefs.
“If Liberal MPs feel enough heat from voters getting out in the street to protest at their offices over the bill, that pressure could reach the Senate, where the majority of senators were appointed by former Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau,” said Fonseca. I hope such pressure will help persuade Senators to defeat or amend C-9.”
Since Bill C-9 passed the House of Commons, tens of thousands of CLC supporters have contacted Senators’ offices, urging them to amend or scrap the bill.
