Rating Comments: Most of Zhou's answers to CLC's 2026 candidate survey were good. However, his answer to the question of whether he'd oppose flying the anti-Christian, LGBT Pride flag prevents us from endorsing him. His commentary implied the possibility of NOT supporting future efforts to ban the anti-Catholic sexual and political symbol, which even the Cardinal Archbishop of this diocese has clearly stated is not appropriate for any Catholic school. Zhou said he would need to see the wording of Pride flag proposals before deciding whether to vote Yes or No. A very concerning statements by Zhou included the couching of his answer on LGBT Pride flags with the ambiguous line: "At the same time, every student, including students who identify as LGBTQ+, must be safe, respected and supported, and protected from bullying, harassment and discrimination", wording that is often used by pro-LGBT trustees to justify the Pride flag as a means to "respect and support" students who are living in a sinful homosexual or "transgender" lifestyle. Another red flag was Zhou's mention of needing to take into account "applicable law", as part of his discernment on whether to support or oppose the Pride flag.
