CLC rating: Pro-free speech; Pro-LGBT ideology; Unknown on abortion
Rating Comments: On December 9, 2025, MP Grant Jackson made a principled and compelling speech to the Parliamentary Justice Committee highlighting the dangers of the Liberal's Bill C-9, which would turn passages of Holy Scripture into "hate speech" and expose Christians to arrest and jail time for quoting the Bible.

In May 2024, as a PC Party of Manitoba provincial MLA, Grant Jackson shamefully voted in favour of the radical pro-LGBT NDP government's Bill 208, which invented an annual celebration in the province called "Two-Spirit and Transgender Day of Visibility".

In March 2025, MLA Jackson resigned his seat in the provincial legislature in order to run in the April 2025 federal election. He did not respond to CLC's 2025 federal election questionnaire.

Here is Grant Jackson's voting record relating to life and family issues:

Votes, Surveys and Policy Decision Vote Score
Vote No. 83 - Motion of Closure to stifle committee debates on anti-Christian Bill C-9
This heavy-handed motion was introduced by the Carney Liberal government to quash the ongoing, heated debate in committee surrounding the Liberals' so-called Hate Speech Bill C-9, which would eliminate the exemption that protects Canadians from being prosecuted for "hate speech" if they quote certain religious texts. Bill C-9 would criminalize passages of the Bible that pro-abortion and pro-LGBT Liberals and their ideological comrades find offensive, exposing Christians to fines and imprisonment. Motion passed by a vote of 186 yeas to 144 nays on March 10, 2026.
paired --
Bill C-9, 3rd Reading, a censorship bill that threatens Christians by potentially criminalizing Bible passages
Disingenuously dubbed the "Combatting Hate Act" by the Carney Liberals, C-9 actually promises to make Christians a target of hateful attacks, reputational damage and legal persecution. It eliminates the long-standing exemption that protects Canadians from being prosecuted for "hate speech" if they quote controversial passages of sacred scripture in good faith, or make statements on the basis of sincerely held religious beliefs. Bill C-9 would criminalize passages of the Bible that pro-abortion and pro-LGBT Liberals and their ideological comrades find offensive, exposing Christians to lawfare and imprisonment. Bill C-9 passed 3rd Reading in the House of Commons by a vote of 186 yeas to 137 nays on March 25, 2026.
