CLC rating: Pro-abortion, pro-LGBT ideology, anti-free speech
Rating Comments: Hogan has never made any explicit public statement on abortion, although he did reference the Abortion Bubble Zone Law as a guidestone when, as a cabinet Minister he introduced censorship legislation to establish “no free speech” bubble zones around every health care faciltiy and school in the province. Furthermore, given that his Liberal Party passed a pro-abortion law in 2016 that had the practical effect of promoting and increasing access to abortion, it is safe to presume that as the now-Leader of this same party, he shares its stance. The Liberal Party of Newfoundland officially supports extreme LGBT ideology, including having a "2SLGBTQQIA+ Liberal Commission" within the party.

Bill 51, an unconstitutional law to establish "no free speech zones" around schools and healthcare facilities
This draconian law which violates essential human and charter rights criminalizes peaceful protest on taxpayer-owned public sidewalks within a 50 metre radius of every school and healthcare facility in Newfoundland. It was passed into law during the lockdown era of 2022, in an effort to silence criticism of the Covid jab mandates.
