Rating Comments: In response to CLC’s 2026 school trustee candidate survey, Neil James rightly acknowledged the inherent right of parental primacy in the education of their children, but then wrote that he wouldn’t defend the right of parents to be notified in advance when their children are to be exposed at school to controversial issues like abortion, contraception, homosexuality, and gender ideology. This latter assertion undermines the very meaning of parental rights in education and thus nullifies the positive aspects of his response.
