Is “Trans Care” an Eventual Death Sentence?
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read the headline from a recent Daily Mail article:
“Trans indigenous Canadian slams doctors for denying her [sic] euthanasia request, saying death would be better than her [sic] constant pain from a surgically-built vagina.”
The LGBT movement is beginning to reap the seeds of confusion and destruction it has sown in our society over the last several decades. There is no more hiding the bitter fruits of its perverted agenda to eradicate God’s good design for human sexuality, gender, marriage, and family.
The article tells the story of a biological male who identifies as a woman and goes by the name of Lois Cardinal. This individual is experiencing immense psychological and physical pain as a result of his transgender “treatments” – so much so that he wants to end his life and has applied for euthanasia. “I’m in constant discomfort and pain,” he laments. “I’m not getting any better and nor am I experiencing better medical care, or any medical care… It’s so captured by gender ideologies, that they care more about my pronouns.”
Thankfully, Cardinal has been denied his request for now, but it is only a matter of time before he finds a doctor willing to qualify him under the Trudeau government’s permissive euthanasia program.
Back in 2009, Cardinal had sought to “convert” to transgender by undergoing mutilating sex change surgery at age 21. This surgery, which he now regrets, was medically unnecessary and has resulted in constant pain, suffering, and trauma over 14 years.
Cardinal had set out on a path that many young people follow today, spurred on by government policies, school indoctrination, and pop culture. The liberal establishment likes to refer to this path by the euphemism of “gender-affirming care”, but it is nothing less than butchery. It amputates healthy body parts and administers chemical cocktails of artificial hormones in a vain attempt to change a person’s immutable, God-given sex.
This so-called “care”, which frequently results in complete sterilization, has been found to produce many other harmful complications. A recent study from the University of Florida shows staggering levels of pain and incontinence among those who receive surgical “trans care”.
According to Dr. Wesley Smith, a bioethics expert, “I find it telling that we don’t hear too much about such severe and chronic post-surgical complications in the debates over ‘gender-affirming care.’ This is another reason why medical conscience laws should apply in this area. Transition surgeries should not be viewed as a ‘civil right,’ if only because they have the potential to cause so much harm to the patient.”
In fact, a Swedish study has shown that those who undergo transgender surgeries have a mortality rate that is three times higher than the general populace. The study notes that there are “substantially higher rates of overall mortality, death from cardiovascular disease and suicide, suicide attempts, and psychiatric hospitalizations in sex-reassigned transsexual individuals compared to a healthy control population.”
In Maine, a health care worker recently spoke out about the rise of serious psychiatric emergencies among young people taking puberty blockers. These transgender-identifying youth – as young as age 13 – are experiencing psychotic episodes with suicidal ideation.
Unfortunately, here in Canada, our government has fully embraced the lie of transgenderism. Every province and territory promotes and provides free, taxpayer-funded “gender-affirming care” to everyone, regardless of age or maturity. Young people are being chemically castrated and physically mutilated as we speak.
Please join me in calling on our premiers and prime minister to institute a complete ban on deadly “trans care” for children and youth in Canada. We must not allow our liberal establishment to continue trying to “convert” our children to transgenderism!
