Councillor Michel J. Morin
Haut-Madawaska - NB
Electoral District: Ward 5-Saint-Hilaire
Bio
CLC rating: Pro-parental rights, unknown on abortion
Rating Comments: Based on a conversation with a constituent during Mr. Morin's PC Party candidacy in the 2024 New Brunswick provincial election, it was determined that he supports parental rights in education. He fully supported the policy of the former Higgs PC government, which required parental consent before teachers and schools can adopt new pronouns or a new name for a student. Having served as a teacher for 32 years, Mr. Morin understands the vital role of parents in a child’s education and upbringing.

Here are the answers for the questionnaire as provided by Michel J. Morin on 2026.04.21.
| Question | Response |
|---|---|
| Organizations like Planned Parenthood (PP) routinely counsel women to have abortions, and increasingly, are involved in dispensing the chemical abortion pill. Given that abortion is a controversial practice that many taxpayers in your municipality find abhorrent, do you agree that PP and similar “sexual health agencies" should not receive taxpayer funds through the municipality? | no response |
| There has been a move in some municipal jurisdictions to pass bylaws which establish censorship zones, also called “bubble zones”, around abortion facilities. These unconstitutional censorship zones make it illegal to express peaceful pro-life speech, including silent prayer, on taxpayer-owned public sidewalks within the vicinity of abortion facilities and pharmacies which dispense abortion pills. If elected, would you vote to oppose such a censorship bylaw, if it were ever proposed? | no response |
| Do you acknowledge that human life begins at conception (fertilization)? | no response |
| Do you consider yourself pro-life or pro-choice? | no response |
