Campaign Life Coalition congratulates Doug Ford on leadership win, expects him to repeal Wynne's radical sex-ed, defend free speech, and stand up for parental and conscience rights

Toronto, March 10, 2018 – Campaign Life Coalition (CLC) is pleased to congratulate Doug Ford on being elected leader of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party. CLC recruited more than 9,000 PC memberships in support of Tanya Granic Allen, and we asked supporters to rank Ford #2. Their votes clearly played a large part in Doug Ford’s winning campaign.

“Pro-life and pro-family PC members, who make up at least 40% of the party’s base, proved to the party establishment that Ontarians are tired of liberal-lite conservatives,” said Jim Hughes, President of Campaign Life Coalition. “Of course, Tanya was our preferred candidate for her principled and unapologetic position on our core issues, but we also look forward to working with Ford and reminding him to fulfill his campaign promises to repeal Wynne’s radical sex-ed, to defend parental rights, to support parental notification legislation for abortion, and to protect free speech and conscience rights.”

“I thank and congratulate Tanya for her influence in the leadership race which brought thousands of social conservatives back to the PC party, after they were betrayed and disenfranchised under the Brown era,” said Jeff Gunnarson, vice-president, Campaign Life Coalition. “She carried the banner of family values unapologetically, and her campaign forced the other candidates to oppose Wynne’s radical sex-ed curriculum, including Doug Ford, as well as pushing others to promise free votes for MPPs and to stand up for conscience rights. Tanya held Patrick Brown accountable for his corruption and was a factor in cleaning up the party,”

Leading up to the election in June, Campaign Life Coalition will continue to work with pro-life and pro-family candidates across the province to help them get elected. CLC thanks its supporters for getting involved in the democratic process and is optimistic about working with Doug Ford as leader of the Progressive Conservative Party.
