CLC rating: Pro-abortion, anti-parental rights
Rating Comments: During the 2016 Manitoba provincial election cycle, the Office of the Leader of Manitoba’s Liberal Party sent a statement to CLC which claimed to represent the beliefs of all Liberal Party candidates and MLAs. The statement suggests that all Manitoba Liberal candidates support the legalized killing of preborn children by abortion, as well as forcing taxpayers to finance those killings with public money. Furthermore, it implies that all Liberal candidates will oppose legislation that would protect the conscience rights of doctors and other health care workers, for example, in continuing to be able to refuse to participate in abortion, or give referrals for abortion. The statement also suggests that every Liberal candidate opposes the fundamental right of parents to withdraw their children from classroom lessons which contradict their religious and moral values, on the topics of marriage and homosexuality.
