CLC rating: Pro-life
Rating Comments: Has not yet responded to CLC's 2018 Ontario provincial election questionnaire, but as a long-time City Councillor, Minnan-Wong was known to be publicly pro-life. In June 2012, Councillor Minnan-Wong walked out in protest during a motion by fellow councillors to honour Henry Morgentaler with a moment of silence, after the arch-abortionist passed away. Morgentaler admitted to personally having killed over 80,000 children in the womb. Minnan-Wong later told journalists "I have always been pro-life" and that the moment of silence should have been for all the human lives "extinguished" by Morgentaler.

Here are quotes from Denzil Minnan-Wong on various life and family issues:

After walking out of Toronto City Council chambers in protest of a motion to honour the abortionist Henry Morgentaler with a moment of silence, Denzil told reporters:   "I have always been prolife. Walking out was a matter of principle and personal integrity. Not to walk out would have been a recognition of his accomplishments... It would have been far more appropriate to have a moment of silence in memory of all the lives that he was responsible for extinguishing" [LifeSiteNews.com, 'Toronto city councillor leaves chamber in protest during Morgentaler tribute', June 12, 2013]
