Candidate, Mike Olscamp
Progressive Conservative Party, Memramcook-Tantramar, NB
Bio
CLC rating: Educable on abortion; Against euthanasia
Rating Comments: Mike told a CLC leader that he considers himself pro-life. He is against extending public tax dollars to the Morgentaler private abortuary, and is also opposed to the legalization of euthanasia. Unfortunately Mike cannot be rated as fully pro-life because he believes that rape is an acceptable reason to terminate an innocent child in the womb.
Position: Minister of Agricultue and Aquaculture and Fisheries, former riding Tantramar (no longer existing)
First elected (yyyy.mm.dd): 18/09/2006
Previous Occupation: teacher
Percentage in last election: 56.7
Victory margin last election: 37.7

| Position on diverting taxpayer $$ towards paying for abortions at Morgentaler's private "clinic" In 2014, the Liberal Party Leader in NB came out against the long-standing ban on public funding for private abortion facilities. For decades, all 3 major parties have agreed that the province shall not fund abortions at private abortion 'clinics'. Only abortions committed at hospitals are publicly funded. After an organized campaign to fund the Morgentaler abortuary, the Liberal Leader came out strongly in favour of fully-funded, abortion-on-demand. |
