Highlights from the 2023 National March for Life in Ottawa

Nearly 6,000 pro-lifers joined us for the National March for Life in Ottawa, to stand firm against the evils of abortion and euthanasia.

There are so many wonderful highlights from the day, whether you want to point to the Rally on Parliament Hill or to the March itself, and we’d like to share some of those moments with you, so we put together a few videos to give you an idea of what it was like at the largest annual pro-life gathering in Canada.

Here’s a cool time-lapse video if you want to get a sense of how big the crowd was, and what it looks like to see thousands of pro-lifers marching through the streets of Ottawa.

You couldn’t miss the optimism and enthusiasm on the faces of everyone in the crowd. There was a real sense of faith and hope in the Lord that day, and a realization that the pro-life movement is rooted in God through prayer, sacrifice, and joy.

On the day before the National March for Life, we held a news conference on the lawn in front of Parliament, and we covered a lot of ground, drawing special attention to the main battles that pro-life advocates have faced in Canada over the past year. We streamed the entire presser live on our Facebook page, but we also filmed the event in high-quality video to share with you.

There was some unexpected news that came out of that presser about an incident that happened before we even turned on our cameras. We had planned on displaying images showing the victims of abortion, but one of Parliament’s liaison officers came up and told us that we had to remove the images.

All in all, though, the 2023 National March for Life was a success, and now it’s time to bring that same optimism and enthusiasm back to our local pro-life movements, because we have our work cut out for us.

Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government keeps doubling down in its support of abortion and euthanasia, and this anti-life agenda is spreading across all levels of government, and even into our schools.

This is why we can’t forget to put on the Armour of God, so we can stand firm in our principles and never compromise in our conviction that every human life is worthy of protection – from conception until natural death – because we’re all fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of our Heavenly Father.

As Campaign Life Coalition’s president Jeff Gunnarson said on the Hill, this is God’s battle and we’re His soldiers, and, in the end, the victory is guaranteed.

A special “thank you” is in order for everyone who was able to make the trip, along with all of those who offered up their prayers in support of the event.
