Rating Comments: Mayor Harvie considers it intolerable that the Delta Hospice would oppose killing its patients through euthanasia (see Quotes tab).
He campaigned (successfully) to strip the non-profit Delta Hospice Society of its charitable status. That status allowed it not have to pay municipal property taxes, just as other charities dont have to. Now, the Delta Hospice Society is forced to pay a crippling $35,000 in property taxes annually on the Thrift Store it runs in town as a means of funding operations. Mayor Harview also marched in a rally organized to condemn the pro-life beliefs of the Delta Hospice Society.
