Thousands urge Premier Blaine Higgs to oppose taxpayer bail-out of Clinic 554
Fredericton, December 20, 2019 – At 2pm today, Campaign Life Coalition delivered more than 2,000 petition signatures to the Honourable Premier of New Brunswick Blaine Higgs, urging him and his government to stand firm against the funding of private abortion facility Clinic 554 (the former Morgentaler Clinic).
“The very loud abortion activists, who are a minority in the province, are rallying for the government to force taxpayers to foot the bill for Clinic 554, a preborn-killing business venture,” said David Cooke, National Campaigns Manager for Campaign Life Coalition. “Taxpayers do not want their hard-earned money propping up a failed business. More importantly, they are also unwilling to support said business for its controversial and morally repugnant practice of killing children in the womb. Once this clinic closes, it should remain closed for good.”
With the abortion facility set to close its doors at the end of the year, federal politicians, like NDP leader Jagmeet Singh and Green Party leader Elizabeth May, have joined the abortion lobby to demand that taxpayers pay for this private, for-profit, abortion business.
“We urge Premier Higgs to continue standing up for the citizens of New Brunswick and the laws they elected him to uphold. The signers of this petition want the premier to do the right thing and refuse to fund Clinic 554, even if the Prime Minister comes knocking on his door,” David Cooke added.
