Voters Guide BC Liberal Party Leadership

Campaign Life Coalition is pleased to provide the following candidate information for the consideration of pro-life, pro-family voting members of the BC Liberal Party.

Aaron Gunn

Campaign Life Coalition was prepared to endorse Aaron Gunn as the only pro-life candidate in the BC Liberal Leadership race. Gunn identifies as pro-life and has been a powerful advocate for free speech and common sense values.

However, the BC Liberal Party's corrupt Leadership Election Organizing Committee (LEOC) disqualified his candidacy and did not allow him to get on the ballot, even though he had been campaigning for some time. The party establishment gave the pathetic excuse that the was not a suitable candidate because of a tweet in which he rejected the claims of woke left-wing activists who claimed that Canada is a racist nation. CLC believes that the real reason for his disqualification is that he was too "conservative" for the establishment's liking, and probably too socially conservative.

Gunn told CLC in an interview that he would support common sense pro-life initiatives such as a ban on sex-selective abortions, an unborn victims of violence law (like the federal Cassie & Molly's Law private members bill), and protecting pro-life student clubs from discrimination by defunding universities that don't respect free speech. He has also been critical of euthanasia's slippery slope.

Aaron has been a vocal opponent of liberty-destroying vaccine passports and coercive mandates which pressure Canadians to take the Covid-19 jabs or else lose their jobs and their fundamental freedoms, even if they have moral or religious objections to the abortion-tainted injections. He has taken the principled position that the government should not legalize drug injection sites, nor further unravel society by legalizing all hard drugs, as the federal Liberals and provincial NDP governments have been moving towards.

Although we are disappointed that Aaron has been pushed out of the BC Liberal Party, we are pleased that he has committed to remaining a political force in the next BC provincial election whether by creating a new party that he would lead, or by joining an existing party.

As far as the BC LIberal Leadership race goes, unfortunately, there is no pro-life or fully supportable candidate remaining on the ballot and thus, Campaign Life Coalition is unable to endorse any of the six remaining candidates to our supporters who are BC Liberal members.

Nor can we encourage you to take out a membership in order to back any particular candidate.  Even those who have expressed some openness to social conservatives have avoided responding to our questionnaire and interview requests. Nonetheless, we're sharing where they stand on issues of life, family, faith and freedom based on their public statements.

Following are some of the criteria used by CLC to rate Merrifield:

SANCTITY OF LIFE:  She did not respond to CLC's questionnaire nor to our requests for an interview. However, in a response to another pro-life group, she gave evasive answers on abortion and euthanasia, making ambiguous statements which could be interpreted either way. She also admitted that if elected leader, she would "dissaude" MLAs from bringing forward pro-life private members bills during an election year and when the party is in a minority.

LGBT IDEOLOGY: Merrifield is a supporter of the homosexual and transgender movement. On Facebook and Twitter she has celebrated Vancouver's Gay Pride parade and Pride Month.

MEDICAL TYRANNY: She is fully on board with totalitarian and unconstitional Covid-19 jab mandates which coerce citizens to take abortion-tainted injections. On social media she has expressed support for making it mandatory for healthcare workers to take the morally compromised, abortion-tainted injections, even if it violates their consciences.

OTHER:  In a leadership debate, she signalled that she might support the legalization of all drugs as an approach to supposedly fight the opioid crisis. Many critics of legalizing drugs point to an increase in drug addiction, experimentation with drugs by younger people, and the deterioration of neighborhoods as a result of such an approach.

Following are some of the criteria used by CLC to rate Falcon:

SANCTITY OF LIFE:  He did not respond to CLC's questionnaire nor to our requests for an interview. However, in a response to another pro-life group, he admitted that he supports abortion and euthanasia as so-called "rights". He also told the group that he would not try to dissaude MLAs from bringing forward pro-life private members bills.

LGBT IDEOLOGY: Falcon is also an supporter of the homosexual and transgender movement. His campaign website depicts him walking on a gay rainbow-painted crosswalk. Social media posts celebrate the homosexual Pride Month. He even posted that it was a great accomplishment that a biological man who played on the women's soccer team won a gold medal to defeat the Swedish women's team.

MEDICAL TYRANNY:  Falcon is another supporter of draconian vaccine mandates, ostensibly approving of the firing of nurses, doctors and other frontline healthcare workers if they refuse to take the abortion-tainted Covid-19 injections.

OTHER:  Falcon hinted that he would not discriminate against socially conservative nomination candidates, and committed to protecting "the Christian community" who “may have beliefs that may not be the most popular thing".

Following are some of the criteria used by CLC to rate Ross:

SANCTITY OF LIFE:  He did not respond to CLC's questionnaire nor to our requests for an interview. However, in a response to another pro-life group, he admitted that he supports abortion as a choice that women should be able to make. He said he has some concerns with assisted suicide. He also told the group that he would not try to dissaude MLAs from bringing forward pro-life private members bills.

LGBT IDEOLOGY: Unlike the other candidates, Ross has not been promoting LGBT ideology on social media.

MEDICAL TYRANNY: Ross told an interviewer that he supports mandatory Covid-19 injections for healthcare workers, ostensibly approving of the firing of nurses, doctors and other frontline healthcare workers if they refuse to take the abortion-tainted jabs. When asked if he supports mandatory Covid injections for university students and staff, he deflected and did not answer.

OTHER:  Ross was the only leadership candidate who publicly decried the disqualification of the pro-life Aaron Gunn, arguing that the latter should have been allowed on the ballot. Ross has repeatedly condemned "cancel culture". In a debate, he also stated "we cannot be NDP-lite".

Following are some of the criteria used by CLC to rate Dew:

SANCTITY OF LIFE:  He did not respond to CLC's questionnaire nor to our requests for an interview. However, in a response to another pro-life group, he admitted that he supports abortion and euthanasia as so-called "rights". He also told the group that he would not try to dissaude MLAs from bringing forward pro-life private members bills.

LGBT IDEOLOGY: Dew supports homosexual and transgender ideology. He tweeted in support of the Trudeau government's bill to criminalize spiritual counselling and clinical therapy for Canadians who volontarily seek such supporters for their unwanted gender confusion or same-sex attraction. That same Trudeau legislation can also jail parents up to 5 years for not allowing their gender-confused child to dress up as the opposite sex.  Dew's social media posts celebrate Vancouver's gay Pride Parade and sentimentally recalls the first gay pride festival he ever attended.

MEDICAL TYRANNY:  Dew supports draconian vaccine mandates, ostensibly approving of the firing of nurses, doctors and other frontline healthcare workers if they refuse to take the abortion-tainted Covid-19 injections. Dew is the only remaining candidate however, who has invited "vigorous debates" and "tough questions around...implications of vaccine passports."

Following are some of the criteria used by CLC to rate Lee:

SANCTITY OF LIFE:  He did not respond to CLC's questionnaire nor to our requests for an interview. However, in an interview with Darpan Magazine, Lee admitted that he supports the so-called "right" to kill children in the womb via abortion, euphemistically calling it the "right to choose".

LGBT IDEOLOGY: Lee is a supporter of homosexual and transgender ideology. He tweeted in support of Vancouver's gay Pride Parade and in debates, constantly brings up his pro-LGBT views. He even went so far as to promise to create a "code of conduct" for BC Liberal MLAs under his leadership that would seemingly require all MLAs to fall in line with secular views on "sexual orientation", which, as we know, stands in stark contradiction to Judeo-Christian values.

MEDICAL TYRANNY:  Lee supports draconian vaccine mandates and the segregation of society via vaccine passports.

OTHER:  Lee engaged in leftist cancel culture by pushing for the pro-life Aaron Gunn to be disqualified. In reference to Gunn, he tweeted that the BC LIberal Party must "not give a platform to intolerant views", thereby smearing all pro-life and traditionally-principled British Columbians.

Following are some of the criteria used by CLC to rate Litwin:

SANCTITY OF LIFE:  He did not respond to CLC's questionnaire nor to our requests for an interview. However, in a response to another pro-life group, Litwin admitted that he supports abortion and euthanasia as so-called "rights". He also told the group that he would actively dissaude MLAs from bringing forward pro-life private members bills.

LGBT IDEOLOGY: Litwin is a supporter of homosexual and transgender ideology, constantly mentioning his support for the LGBT agenda. He even recorded a video characterizing traditionally-prinicpled Canadians who believe in traditional marriage as "intolerent". That video also hinted that the party's election loss to the NDP was caused by the existence of pro-family, Christian MLAs, which he falsley characterized as signalling to voters that the party "tolerates intolerance".

MEDICAL TYRANNY: Litwin supports for draconian vaccine mandates, ostensibly approving of the firing of nurses, doctors and other frontline healthcare workers if they refuse to take the abortion-tainted Covid-19 injections.

Following are some of the criteria used by CLC to rate Sipos:

SANCTITY OF LIFE:  Sipos entered the race extremely late, and has not responsed to CLC's candidate questionnaire. Therefore, his views on abortion and euthanasia are unknown.

LGBT IDEOLOGY: Sipos entered the race extremely late, and has not responded to CLC. Therefore, his views on LGBT ideology are unknown.

MEDICAL TYRANNY: Sipos entered the race extremely late, and has not responded to CLC. Therefore, his views on forcing citizens to take abortion-tainted Covid injections, and other unconstitutional Covid restrictions are unknown.
