CLC rating: Pro-life
Rating Comments: On June 1, 2021, Trustee Greg Reitzel resigned his position with the WCDSB in protest against the horrendous decision by the Board's Administration to fly that notorious symbol of sexual sin, the gay Pride flag, at the Catholic Education Centre and at all Catholic schools in the WCDSB throughout the month of June.

Trustee Reitzel was the only Waterloo Trustee to support a proposed motion in 2014 to request that OECTA to withdraw its participation in the homosexual World Pride Parade, but the proposed motion received no support from fellow trustees. Greg has consistently upheld Catholic teaching as a trustee.

Here is Greg Reitzel's voting record relating to life and family issues:

Votes, Surveys and Policy Decision Vote Score
Motion to condemn and/or retract OECTA's decision to participate in the 2014, World Gay Pride Parade [2014]
The homosexual pride parade totally contradicts the beliefs of the Catholic Church about marriage & human sexualty. It celebrates gay sex and promotes the homosexual lifestyle as normal, natural, healthy and perfectly moral. The parade includes mock sex acts, sexual bondage and sadomasochism. It is a scandal for any Catholic to be seen supporting it, much less Catholic teachers who work as agents of the Church.
Yes (May 26/14) ok
