Bio
CLC rating: Educable
Rating Comments: His answers to CLC's 2018 election questionnaire suggested he believes that state has a major role in setting and guiding the moral education of our children even as it impacts religious beliefs in the area of sexual morality. He said he would support advance notification of controversial lessons such as abortion, homosexuality and contraception. He also said he'd support the right of parents to withdraw their children from such lessons, even though it seems he would not support removing those lessons from the curriculum entirely.

Do you agree that parents, not the state, have the inherent right of primacy in education of children? | I think that both have an important role in educating our children and that the child is the primary in education. We need to be certain that everything involved in the education of our children is evidence based and works towards the most beneficial outcomes for everyone involved. |
Will you defend the inherent right of parents to be notified in advance regarding any lesson, speaker or presentation involving controversial issues such as abortion, contraception, homosexuality, and gender ideology? | Yes. I think parents should be involved and informed of every aspect of their child's education. All aspects of an education need to be shared with parents so that they can be informed participants in improving the outcomes for their children. |
Do you agree that parents should have the right to withdraw their children from classroom lessons or presentations involving controversial issues such as abortion, contraception, homosexuality, and gender ideology? | Neither or both have primacy. I think that both have an important role in educating our children and that the child is the primary in education.
