Last week, MP Brad Trost uploaded a video exposing a new caveat the Federal Liberals have added to the Canada Summer Jobs Program which kicks off today. This government program is a long standing initiative that helps not-for-profits, public-sector employers and small businesses create summer jobs for full-time students. It was designed to help employers help students help their communities and vice-versa.

But, as of today, December 19, 2017, in order for employers to receive summer job grants, they will first have to attest that:

“…both the job and the organization’s core mandate respect individual human rights in Canada, including the values underlying the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms as well as other rights. These include reproductive rights and the right to be free from discrimination on the basis of sex, religion, race, national or ethnic origin, colour, mental or physical disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression.”

In other words, for pro-life and/or faith-based organizations to receive grants, they will be required to abandon their beliefs and align themselves with the Liberal Government’s value system.

If you’re an employer that believes that life should be legally protected from the moment of conception until natural death, or in the biblical definition of marriage as between a man and a woman, or that gender isn’t fluid but biologically defined… sorry but not sorry.

According to our Employment Minister and abortion enthusiast Patty Hajdu, if you’re one of these employers, your job isn’t actually meaningful and teenagers shouldn’t be exposed to your kind.  

This is discrimination at its finest. But, should we really be surprised?

After all, this is the same government that has been on an ‘Ideological Colonization’ World Tour for the past 2 years, claiming that abortion is at the core of Canada's foreign policy. Liberals have been tying foreign aid to abortion, while spending millions of dollars coercing foreign governments to break down their anti-abortion laws. They see no wrong in spreading their “feminist values’ to every corner of the world using Canadian tax dollars.  All $650 million (which includes tax dollars from pro-life people as well as others). 

But Trudeau’s radical agenda is very much present here at home too.

This government also passed Bill C-16, which added “gender expression” and “gender identity” to Canada’s Human Rights Code and to the Criminal Code’s hate crime section. By compelling speech, these laws are totalitarian assaults on language, human biology and freedom of speech. Already they have been used as reasons to punish and demonize Canadians who oppose, or just question, using gender neutral pro-nouns.

And of course, let’s not forget the government’s failed attempt with Bill C-51 to remove laws that protect clergy and Church worship services from disruption. Kudos to Canadians for pushing back, causing the government to back down, we hope permanently.

All of these betray the government’s complete disdain for Canadians of various faith traditions, who just don’t line up with Trudeau’s manipulative interpretation of the Charter.

The Student Summer Jobs program is the latest casualty in the Liberal government’s war on Canada and the values and freedoms that have made this country what it is.
